Abstract
This is a literary, applied and procedural research that deals with the art of metaphor in the poems of the poet Ali Jaafar Al-Alaq, with a modern critical approach. Because what is noticeable about the poet is his interest in this art, and his use of it in almost all of his poems, in a style different from the style of the ancients, by inventing modern metaphors, some from nature, some from the soul, and some from the rhythm of life, and in all cases the poet has mastered the use and achieved the desired meaning.
