The contextual and semantic study is considered one of the most important linguistic studies, especially since the field of this study is the Holy Qur’an. Therefore, I chose a title for this research, which is (the significance of the verb (taaf) and its derivatives in the Qur’anic context). It became clear to me from studying this topic that the word (taaf) comes in the Qur’anic context. With many meanings and connotations, namely (burning fire, meaning servants and Mamluks, wandering, hesitation and movement, obsession and imagination, circumambulating the Sacred House, a group of people, water and heavy rain). Then I studied these meanings in the Qur’anic verses and compared the sayings of grammarians and commentators in guiding these meanings. Verses. Keywords: Connotation, Verb, Tāaf, Qur’anic Context
